A Purpose in Life

After writing this out, I realize this is a very opinionated piece. Likely you have a better way of explaining this concept to your own people and self.

This is a really big topic for a group, community even just a lone individual. Someone can spend years thinking about it. What I wish to write about is INDIVIDUALITY–the path an individual takes in life. Since this is not a book, only a single blog post I’ll just touch on it.

Each human being is different. We all are given people to chat with, learn about, be like or not be like. Each one of us makes over 100 decisions in a single day about how we do it. Because of this, each one of us very different no matter what.

Some people try to predict a person’s path in life, even use educated guesses, planning too. What they cannot fully predict are the variety of forces that come upon that person in their life. These can be simple things to complicated influences.

Not everything is at it appears. I learned this. There are all kinds of “face values” that people can easily see, and so many more people can’t. There are obvious things going on, and not so obvious going on within a lifetime of one person.

Influencing others is actually a very natural way of human communication. It is communication. Some do it by example, some do it by explanation, some do it by instruction… and there is the toughest way which is BY FORCE and THREAT, COERCSION. “Being influenced” can cause changes in someone’s hour, day, month, year… lifetime. And most of us are influenced! Reality is, we ARE ALL INFLUENCED. We accept it willingly most of the time. It is what we use the influences for that makes us so individual.

Training is a form of influence. A very different topic. What can be said is, most of us self-train, self-direct and make choices in life.

Choices, even choosing not to make one are what gives us a path in life.

Purpose is what keeps us going. A lot of our choices form our purpose and our purpose(s) form our choices. We all have a “big account” in our soul from which to draw meaning(s). Makes us human. Makes us constant decision makers. My experience in life has shown me it is very human to make choices.

Problem Solving

I need to write a more elaborate post here. Call this one a placeholder.

It is HUMAN to problem solve. It is actually a function of most animals. ANYTHING that has a brain… is a problem solver. We are supposed to be the highest animal on the Earth, the species with the greatest thinking and problem solving abilities. Are we doing our best in our daily lives?

National Slave Day

Today is actually “Labor Day” in the United States. It is a day we celebrate the achievements the country and the people within it have made in getting and giving work lawfully and humanely. Wishing I could toast to my own life’s work, I decided to create and propose something for everyone to think about: National Slave Day. It’s basically for everyone who were not able to get a stable steady income and life, even those who only experienced a slavery or enslavement a short time. http://nationalslaveday.org

Not about a “shame on you”. It’s purpose is education for those being enslaved and those promoting slavery in small and big ways. It takes a strong will to make improvements near and far.

Humans that Bridge Gaps

Railway Viaduct, Newport, Co. Mayo, Ireland was once a railway carrying steam trains, now is just a pedestrian bridge.

People in general are like bridges, also known as personal and professional connections. Myself and others that I know do feel like a bridge(s) and were controversial in that some wanted us, some needed us… some knew are connections were built very incorrectly and used badly too. Some helped me be a bridge some tried to “blow me up”.

Now I personally am authentically old(or well used, even with repairs along the way) and others need to take my place. You can’t mrdr me though, I am a human being who is simply RETIRED.. FULLY RETIRED NOW.

The analogy is… the “pieces of land” this bridge connected are eroded. This is not a “good place” to keep using or crossing upon. “Just go upstream or downstream a few miles and build a new bridge”.

Human retirees are like old retired bridges. Maybe originally they held up vehicles and many workers crossed them in a day… in their older ages birds land on them, grass and mosses too. A random sheep or dog and trail walkers cross. People even stand on them to enjoy the views or write poetry and paint pictures.

Old bridges stay around if they were useful and help newer people appreciate history. They may be made of good stones, or were built by a community that kept it working for generations. Old humans are like this too.

Lost and Found Bridges

I discovered early in life, some bridges that people crossed had different names to different people and the actual bridge may not have had a name for itself! Do you know how much trouble this would cause if people got the wrong directions and wrong names???

The message here is not every human being is YOUR BRIDGE to others, but they may be important to people you know. Big and small, short and tall, old and new, with or without a name.
